Kevil, Kentucky is a city located in Ballard County. According to the United States Census Bureau, the population of Kevil was 605 in 2016. The city is part of the Paducah Micropolitan Area and is located about 18 miles west of downtown Paducah. Also, the city is located about 18 miles west of Metropolis, Illinois which sits on the Ohio River. The Ohio River is the diving line between Kentucky and Illinois.

Despite the small size of Kevil, the city is home to many businesses and attractions. Located in the city is a United States Postal Service office, a small downtown area that features historical buildings, the Kevil United Methodist and Kevil First Baptist churches, and much more. The community is positioned along Highway 60 which provides residents of Kevil easy access to larger communities and outdoor recreation opportunities like the West Kentucky State Wildlife Management Area, Shawnee National Forest, and the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.
